We have been truly delighted to see Äican bringing so much joy to people since its recent release. It is especially rewarding to witness how the happiness it spreads resonates with our core values. Äican originates from our deep-rooted belief in the transformative power of positivity. We wanted Äican to encapsulate the uplifting essence of optimism, incorporating notes that not only delight but also carry profound spiritual significance.

In the top notes, we chose Mandarin, revered across cultures as a symbol of good fortune. The heart notes feature Ginger, celebrated for its healing properties and its ability to foster balance and harmony. For the base notes, we selected Sandalwood, known for its protective qualities and its ability to enhance inner radiance.

Moe Khalaf, Founder and Creative Officer of Kajal was behind the intricate design of Äican. He explains the design process and how important optimism and positivity are to him: “My mantra is to do an OMG thing – one more good thing, every day. I think of how I can do one additional thing that is good for others, for the environment, for animals/pets, or even something as simple as smiling or saying 'Hello' to a total stranger. This was and still is instilled in me by my mother, as she taught me this growing up, and to this very day. Every time I talk to her, she asks, ‘Did you do a good deed today?’ I am forever grateful to her for this; it is one of an infinite number of reasons I am grateful to her."

“In all our designs, it is imperative to me that I incorporate geometric art. It has been a long-standing passion of mine, not only for its visual aesthetic but also for its much deeper meaning. All life forms, including the molecular structure of our DNA, the cornea of our eyes, snowflakes, flower petals, crystals, seashells, stars, the galaxy we exist within, and the air we breathe, are intricately created from geometric codes. I love that it symbolises the interconnectedness of all life forms, reminding us always to remain humble and treat others with kindness and respect.

In the design for Äican, I included the Lote Tree, which symbolizes wisdom and knowledge. Its deep roots anchor it to the earth, while its branches reach toward the heavens, symbolizing the connection between our earthly lives and higher insight. It serves as a metaphor for the soul's quest for enlightenment and the achievement of a higher state of consciousness.

We chose the name ÄICAN because it is a beautiful Arabic term rich with meaning, signifying gold that has been completely purified of all imperfections. Gold’s incorruptible nature embodies purity and perfection. Spiritually, this symbolizes the soul's path to purification, shedding impurities and negative traits to reach a state of spiritual perfection.

As we may have mentioned before, the eight-pointed star embodies balance and harmony, symbolizing the equilibrium between the physical and spiritual realms. It also represents creation and manifestation, illustrating the journey from intention to realization in the creative process.”
